Networking in Russia. Teach what we can do?

Why not move up the career ladder and solve any problems and problems with the help of useful contacts? In today's world of accelerated consumption, where everyone wants to use everyone, dating is essential. The goal of networking is to gather as many useful people as possible into a social circle (network) and use their connections, skills and abilities for their own purposes …

For four years a new trend of “Networking” trainings of success has been moving through the business circles and information events of our country. For those who are not in the know, this is the creation of a network of acquaintances and friends in order to solve their life tasks and business issues with their help. For example, to place a child in a kindergarten, find a job, a doctor, an employee, an investor. In theory, networking can be learned and implemented through personal contact and social networks. "Why study this?" - anyone born in the post-Soviet space will be surprised. Let us explain this phenomenon using Yuri Burlan's System-Vector Psychology.

"Good to everyone!" - show your profitability

Supported by the American theory of the six handshakes, advanced entrepreneurs in Canada and the United States offer the Russian layman an attractive picture. Why not move up the career ladder and solve any problems and problems with the help of useful contacts? In today's world of accelerated consumption, where everyone wants to use everyone, dating is essential. The goal of networking is to gather as many useful people as possible into a social circle (network) and use their connections, skills and abilities for their own purposes. You can also work via the Internet, then it will be called mobile networking.

This approach, according to the benefit-benefit rule, is typical for the owners of the skin vector. According to Yuri Burlan's System-Vector Psychology, a vector is a set of innate mental desires and properties that determines the interests and aspirations of a person, his behavior and reactions, his innate talents and a predisposition to one or another type of professional activity. Business and adaptive from birth, skin people build everything around through the principle of exchange "you - me, I - you". Including communication.

The skin's desire to achieve a result and make a profit by investing a minimum and saving on efforts (economy is one of their main values) finds itself in different areas of life. One of them is communication.

The dermal person, who inquires a lot about others, prefers to be silent about himself. Or talk about yourself what is convenient and profitable. This quality is in demand in the new format. The first condition of networking is to present yourself, before doing it profitably "branding". That is, show your strengths and at the same time find out the necessary information from the interlocutor. And this is normal business negotiation practice. Only the result of networking is not the signing of a contract, but the exchange of contacts. A skin person has thousands of such contacts in a smartphone, and if necessary, he keeps in touch with everyone.

Connections are everything

The skin man does not need to be taught networking - it is in his blood. Developed and realized in their properties, skin people are successful and achieve a prominent "status" position in society. Their innate properties, their unconscious, and not American sociologists and business coaches of success, tell them how to behave. And today, in the age of skin consumption, it is skin people who spread such an understandable and pleasant lifestyle for others. Through themselves, skin leaders feel that everyone can learn to “build connections”. And in search of new markets, American businessmen find themselves in Russia.

For 50 years now, the theory of Stanley Milgram and Jeffrey Travers has argued that you, dear reader, and, say, the Prince of Monaco are united by a chain of only six common acquaintances. In 2015, Facebook announced that social media had reduced this chain to four. It turns out that the larger the circle of acquaintances, the higher the chance of being among the mighty of this world. This motivation drives many to embark on the daring path of networking. The path is interesting, but for Russians it works differently. Such a format as business networking is not suitable for everyone.

Nothing personal just business

It would seem that the idea of acquiring useful acquaintances, becoming a “person with connections” is good for everyone. But only we build interpersonal connections in different ways. Historically, it so happened that peoples differ in worldview, worldview. Residents of different continents and countries have different mental superstructure. Sometimes so much so that any social idea that works for some becomes unacceptable for others.

As Yuri Burlan's System-Vector Psychology explains, the countries of the West and the United States are carriers of the so-called skin mentality. This mentality is based on discipline, obedience to the law, standardization, and equalizing everyone in their rights.

Western people think in terms of benefit-benefit and standardize everyone's rights to receive it. Moreover, everyone is responsible for their actions before the law, all relations between people are formalized. Everyone has rights in various areas of life. It comes to absurd moments from the point of view of a Russian person, when marital obligations are stipulated in the marriage contract.

The Western world is a world of rights and obligations, where everyone finds themselves in the same competitive conditions, and the struggle for a place in the sun begins from a common horizontal. Anyone with a skin mentality builds relationships in society, guided by the values of the law and "profit". And there can be no mistake in networking for them: people understand, "counting on what" they communicate.

No business - only personal

Our people have a unique urethral-muscular mentality based on collectivism and community. We do not "solve issues with the help of friends", we live in a community, because once upon a time it was impossible to live without it. Today I have a bad harvest, and the neighboring village helps, tomorrow - vice versa. Seeking personal gain is a concept contrary to our mentality. Helping “with the whole world”, “one for all, and all for one” - these are our values. Our mental desire is to help each other, not to use.

Our mentality also has one more remarkable feature, which abroad was called "wide open soul". Unlike restrained Europeans obeying the rules, we perceive any restrictions as repression, an attempt to curb our nature. Our mentality is steppe, not limited by frameworks and rules. We cannot politely smile at someone we dislike. We cannot walk down the street with a forced polite smile (that's why they call us gloomy). But if we are glad to someone and smile, then it is always sincere, from the heart.

Networking means purely business formalized relations between people: "Nothing personal, just business." And in Russia, relationships are built only on the personal. And this is where our strength lies when we strive for the common good.
