I am a workaholic, or How to get through vacations and holidays

I literally start climbing the wall. Your own apartment seems cramped. Household chores are troublesome and joyless. It's even worse on vacation away from home, when the cultural sightseeing program seems to pass me by. I think about work: how is everything without me? I would like to go to work as soon as possible, where I feel myself in my place, at ease …

I love my job, it brings me tremendous satisfaction and return. This is the brainchild of my whole life. One "but": sometimes there is a vacation or the time for long holidays comes. The first day I even do my best to rest and enjoy life, but then it covers me …

The surroundings start to get annoying. I literally start climbing the wall. Your own apartment seems cramped. Household chores are troublesome and joyless. It's even worse on vacation away from home, when the cultural sightseeing program seems to pass me by. I think about work: how is everything without me? I would like to go to work as soon as possible, where I feel in my place, at ease.

And further. Very often it is on vacation or on long holidays that I get sick. And this time passes in agony and worries. How to learn to rest and enjoy every day? How to stop thinking about work and improve other areas of life?

From each - according to ability

System-vector psychology of Yuri Burlan identifies eight vectors - eight types of psyche with a unique set of innate desires and properties aimed at the realization of these desires. A person can have from one to eight vectors. In the modern world, a combination of four or five vectors in one personality is quite common. The vectors form behavioral patterns and sustainable life scenarios.

Everyone has different priorities in life. So, work almost always comes first for a person with a skin vector. Such a person strives for property and social superiority. It is at work that he gets the realization of his desires and ambitions.

A person with a skin vector has logical thinking. He is able to set a goal for himself and follow it clearly. He is able to solve the most difficult tasks in the shortest possible time, work almost 24 hours a day, limiting rest and sleep. The leatherworker does everything quickly and gets great pleasure, seeing the effectiveness of his work.

Time is a valuable resource for the skinner. A developed person with a cutaneous vector is usually never late. And he always comes to work on time, and sometimes 10 minutes earlier. Punctuality is in his blood, because he values his own and other people's time. Therefore, leatherworkers hate it when others are late. This causes them at best irritation, and even a fit of anger. The skin man saves not only time, he is generally inclined by nature to save all types of resources and reduce costs: material, labor and others.

Natural manager

Skinners are capable of becoming good organizers who flexibly adapt to any conditions and quickly resolve any work issues. One of the properties of the skin vector is the ability to control and limit.

In addition, it is the leather workers who are concerned with career development. For people with other vectors, the position on the career ladder is less significant or is taken for granted, deserved by hard years of work. And the leather worker always wants to get one step higher. There is often competition among leatherworkers: each of them strives to do the work faster and to a greater extent than others, even if this occurs at the expense of quality. By becoming the first in such competitions, the leather worker expects to receive a raise or increase in salary, thereby increasing his rank in society.

At the same time, the leather workers work strictly according to the schedule, not staying for a minute overtime. However, in cases where it promises them a benefit, they can stay up late at work. In an effort to fulfill their natural role, leather workers sometimes work two or three jobs. And even seven days a week.

Work is the source of meaning

According to Yuri Burlan's System-Vector Psychology, the skin vector refers to the lower vectors that provide basic human needs and survival in the landscape. In addition to the lower ones, there are also upper vectors that are responsible for intelligence: sound, visual, and others.

So, the sound vector endows a person with abstract intelligence and a desire to search for new ideas and concepts, unique engineering solutions. The soundman is an introvert. He is not interested in the outside world, but in his own ideas and feelings. It is important for him to feel the meaningfulness of everything that happens.

The vocal-cutaneous bundle of vectors can give its owner a fanatical dedication to the idea. It can be a religious, political or other idea.

A workaholic is a person who is fanatically dedicated to his job. She fills his life with meaning. When he goes on vacation, he experiences an acute sense of the loss of the meaning of life. He no longer understands what he needs to do and why, all his thoughts remained there, at his workplace, which was inaccessible for two weeks.

Vacation is a waste of time?

A person with a sound vector does not think in terms of time, however, if he also has a skin vector, then time takes on a special meaning for him. The skin sound specialist is a reformer in essence, a conductor of new ideas. He wants change immediately, right now. And if changes are postponed, even for a short vacation, he perceives this as a negative phenomenon, an annoying delay.

In this case, deficiencies in the skin vector may manifest as flickering. A person tries to occupy himself and does a lot of unnecessary things. With a characteristic gesture, he can drum his fingers on the table or swing his leg, not finding use of his impulse. And even if he does not show it outwardly, inside he experiences the strongest impatience.

And in the sound vector he experiences emptiness. Life has stopped and is experienced as something ridiculous, devoid of meaning. A black hole just opens inside him, into which he falls through until the end of the vacation. But when he goes to work, everything quickly falls into place: the usual range of responsibilities, the need to solve current issues, a bunch of important things. And life is getting better!

When there is too little work

With a large volume of the psyche of a modern person, work, most often, is not enough to fill it, especially if a person has a sound vector. And even abstract sciences such as physics and mathematics are no longer able to fill the needs of the sound vector. I want more! Revealing our hidden abilities and properties, we acquire new interests in life, discover new prospects for ourselves.

Man is not born only to perform narrow functions in the workplace. Life is much broader and more interesting.
