Burns out the one who has never burned, or How harmful is it to take everything to heart?

Sometimes one hears the belief that the constant return of emotions, sensual empathy are harmful. That participation in the life of someone who needs support and help, disinterested giving of feelings leads to moral exhaustion. The so-called emotional burnout, which ends with apathy, nervous breakdowns and almost depression or somatic illness …

Someone else's trouble is not my problem

We live in an era of consumption, an era of individualists, in a time of private property and personal space with limited access. After a period of collective labor, comradely courts and the high importance of public opinion, when every event in the life of an individual was lived "by the whole world", we entered a new society. In this new society, everyone began to fence off with a high fence, keeping their distance from others. Sometimes such restraint extends to attempts to share emotions with others, especially if these emotions are directed outward - empathy, compassion, pity, kindness, charity.

It is not always possible to recognize true emotions and understand what is really in a person's soul behind a duty smile and a neutral expression. Sincere feelings are only for the closest people, because this is a great value! Another's joy does not concern us, just like someone else's grief.

Sometimes one hears the belief that the constant return of emotions, sensual empathy are harmful. That participation in the life of someone who needs support and help, selfless giving of feelings leads to moral exhaustion. The so-called emotional burnout, which ends with apathy, nervous breakdowns and almost depression or somatic illness.

Considering that emotional burnout is a special psychological state, let's try to understand this from the standpoint of the system-vector psychology of Yuri Burlan.

Saving feelings or self-deception

Each of us has a completely specific psychological profile, the properties of which are innate and unchanged throughout life. These properties require constant and uninterrupted realization in adult life at the level to which they managed to develop during childhood.

Social realization in a creative way, bringing benefits to society, brings biochemical processes in the central nervous system of an individual to a balanced state and is felt as a state of happiness, fulfillment, meaningfulness of life.

Emotional burnout, whatever this condition is associated with, is felt negatively, which means it represents a deficiency in the realization of innate psychological properties. The emotional sphere comes to the fore among the representatives of the visual vector, so the problem of burnout is mostly concerned with them.

The modern cutaneous phase of human development is shaping public opinion according to the same cutaneous values and priorities. The desire for savings in the skin vector manifests itself in everything - from financial or time resources, to words or emotions. Hence the belief that emotional return is harmful to physical health and psychological state, that it allegedly leads to burnout, emasculation and devastation of the emotional sphere of a person. As if, in this way, energy, vitality and even health are lost.

For a skin person, any savings are a joy, any restrictions are given easily and naturally, moreover, they bring pleasure. Control, restraint, discipline, self-organization and management of others are all skin properties that are becoming generally accepted in this time period.

However, this is an economy "in itself", not aimed at implementation in society. Unfortunately, on the territory of the post-Soviet space, the skin vector is often in just such a state and creates a kind of trap for other human vectors. For example, visual. Yes, the skin vector limits, but it limits the vision in realization, which inevitably leads to a deficiency and an unsatisfied state.

How to burn without burning out

Representatives of the visual vector feel an acute need for emotions. These are the very people who can feel the psychological state of another person, understand the depth of the feelings of their neighbor, and are able to share both joy and sorrow with the interlocutor. Only a visual person can truly "put himself in the place of another person" and experience, feel his emotions on himself.

In communication, compassion, empathy with other people, the visual person realizes his innate psychological properties, receiving satisfaction from this. The spectator most often chooses for himself the activity associated with the provision of any kind of help to other people, communication with them. This can be medicine, charity, social work, volunteer movements, and the like. Such people feel the need for communication, they are hurt by the suffering of others, they understand how much their help is necessary for another, they feel the desire for such activity, because this is what gives the greatest fulfillment of their properties.

In the modern world, a visual person, falling under the influence of generally accepted skin trends, can succumb to the rationalizations of a not very developed skin vector - locking himself in limitations, saving feelings and emotions, forbidding himself to disinterestedly give feelings or share them with others. In this case, the desire for skin saving sometimes does not allow the vision to fully realize itself, prevents it from opening up sincerely, sympathizing with another, and taking his problems to heart. After all, the thought is spinning in my head that it is harmful, this leads to emotional burnout … Visual properties remain unfulfilled, shortages are growing, the internal state is deteriorating and felt very negatively.

Without a deep understanding of our own psychological nature, we often, realizing one vector, deprive the other. While filling some properties, we forget about others, or we simply don't know how to implement them. Instead of giving, we try to switch to the consumption of emotions in a skin-like manner, not realizing that such a process does not give full satisfaction to a modern visual person with a high temperament.

Increasingly, psychological literacy is becoming a necessity for the full realization of a person in the 21st century.

A visual person cannot burn out emotionally. The more he gives up emotions, the more pleasure he gets, because this is the process of realizing visual properties. Each need longs for its satisfaction - the need for communication, emotions, experiences, feelings. Any consumption of course. It is limited by the capabilities of the consumer, therefore, the consumption of feelings, such as drawing attention to oneself, caring only about one's own person, deep concern for one's appearance, and the like, is a rather limited process and is not able to bring intense pleasure. While the process of bestowal is potentially limitless, this means that the potential enjoyment of giving activity is also unlimited and can fill the visual properties of even the highest temperament.

Sometimes under the fashionable term "emotional burnout" there are dissatisfied states of other vectors. This, for example, can be anger in the skin vector, resentment in the anal, or apathy in the sound. All these states are felt negatively, but they have nothing to do with the emotional sphere of a person, but are manifestations of a deficiency in the realization of innate psychological properties.

Modern man more and more often carries several vectors, but the needs of one vector cannot be satisfied at the expense of another. The ability to realize oneself fully comes with the formation of systems thinking.
