Truth versus false history. To whom the light, to whom the darkness

Not every person, from an eyewitness of events to a scientist, our contemporary, is able to perceive historical events in isolation from their own sensory perception, morality and beliefs. One example of such an interpretation is the history of Ancient Iran or the Achaemenid State …

Historians say that knowledge about the life of our ancestors teaches us not to repeat their mistakes, not to relive social catastrophes, to recognize the true causes of events and social phenomena. However, as reality shows, the experience of the past does not always work - either from banal ignorance, or because of the erroneous interpretation of historical events.

First, you need to understand the concepts of history and its interpretation, which are not equal to each other. History as a chain of events that occurred in a certain period of time is the facts as they are, without an observer. And the interpretation of history is exactly what comes to us in the form of archives, information and other materials for analysis. This is a relative concept that has been distorted by the observer.

Not every person, from an eyewitness of events to a scientist, our contemporary, is able to perceive historical events in isolation from their own sensory perception, morality and beliefs. One example of such an interpretation is the history of Ancient Iran or the Achaemenid Empire.

Ancient Iran

The story tells about the military and political successes of the kings of Iran: Cyrus II and his son Kambis II. The formation of the Achaemenid State, the largest state in the Middle East of the 6th century BC, originated from them.

Cyrus was an intelligent politician and talented military leader, famous for his conquest of territories from the borders of Egypt to the northwestern borders of India. He died in a battle with the nomadic Massget tribe on the eastern bank of the Amu Darya. Cambyses II, who inherited the throne of his father, continued his military and political activities in Egypt.

Coup and turmoil

However, in this period in the history of Iran, another event deserves the greatest attention. March 11, 522 BC in Iran there was an uprising, as a result of which the brother of Cambyses Bardia proclaimed himself heir to the throne. Cambyses himself died on the way to Persia under mysterious circumstances. The new king was supported by the Median nobility and part of the army.

But the noble Iranians, among whom was Darius, a representative of the younger line of Achaemenids, did not recognize the power of Bardia and organized a conspiracy against the new king. In the fall of 522 BC. the conspirators entered the fortress where Bardia lived, killed him and proclaimed Darius king, later better known as Darius I the Great. After becoming king, the 28-year-old ruler suppressed uprisings that broke out in all parts of the state for about a year, in Babylonia, Persia, Media, Egypt, etc. Nobody knew that it would be possible to preserve the Achaeminid Empire and restore a stable position in the annexed countries only in a year. In the future, his reforms and forward-looking policies will glorify Iran for another 200 years.

Darius I

Darius managed to create a new administrative system, which strengthened the role of state administration, in all areas - satrapies - the collection of taxes was reorganized, the number of regular troops was increased in the occupied countries. During the same period, the Persians had a dominant position at sea.

Darius I accurately understood the significance of the most important victories for his state. At an altitude of 105 meters on the Behistun rock, one of the amazing relics of Ancient Persia has survived to this day. It is a carved cuneiform inscription decorated with a bas-relief of Darius I and the Iranian gods. Scientists were able to decipher the meaning of the Behistun inscription only in the 19th century.

The inscription tells about the campaign of Cambyses to Egypt. About how Cambyses, before going to Egypt, ordered to kill his brother Bardia. About how a certain priest of Gaumata began to impersonate Bardia and seized the throne. About the traceless death of Cambyses. It also talks about a conspiracy against Gaumata, about his murder and the subsequent formation of Darius as head of state.

Behistun inscription. Tsar or impostor?

Some modern historians believe that Darius was an impostor, and it was he who killed Cambyses' brother, the real Bardia, in order to seize the throne. We can only guess which of these versions is true.

If we assume that Darius I came to power by killing the real Bardia, the legitimate heir to the throne, then many of us will call his behavior criminal. However, be that as it may, Bardia (or false Bardia) led the country to uprisings and unrest, to confusion and chaos. While Darius managed not only to preserve the territory of the state of Cyrus II, but also to strengthen the state.

Where is the truth?

In the modern world, overflowing with political tension, information wars, revolutions imposed from the outside, endless rewriting of history, we cannot always determine by what criterion the head of state should be assessed. How to understand the political life within the country and abroad? How to understand which side are you on in the information war? Are you on the side of the destroyers or patriots and creators, chopping branches under them? What to look for when choosing a candidate for government representatives in elections?

System-vector psychology of Yuri Burlan explains this as follows.

Each person sees the world through himself according to his innate nature, his vectors, which can be present in a person in almost any combination and shape his personality, preferences in the profession, interests and hobbies. The perception of the world and our place in this world also depends on how developed and realized our innate properties and talents.

For example, people who have a skin vector who are agile, agile, flexible in body and soul can develop discipline and the ability to comply with the laws, engineering talent or love of sports.

A man with an anal vector is the keeper of traditions. His values are family and children. In his work, he is a professional, pays attention to detail and is able to bring any business to an ideal result.

People with a visual vector, impressionable and inquisitive, can develop a sense of beauty, understanding of art, love for all living things: for plants, animals, other people. Depending on the combination with the lower vectors, they can realize their visual potential in the profession of a doctor, artist, artist, photographer, psychologist. At the peak of his development, the visual eye can feel love for all of humanity, we usually call such people humanists.

People with a sound vector, unlike visual people, from the outside seem emotionless. They tend to be lonely. The feeling of beauty and love mean little to them in comparison with the inner desire to know the meaning of life, the structure of the Universe. This innate interest can develop into a passion for science.

It also happens that our innate properties do not receive proper development. In this case, the values inherent in the developed state of the vector do not exist for us, they are not felt as something important and significant.

For example, the owner of the skin vector, who has developed the ability to limit himself, values discipline and the law, sets goals for himself and achieves results. Such a person appreciates these qualities in another way. And without having received development, that is, remaining in an archetypal state, the dermal person cannot discipline himself, does not submit to control, seeks to grab what is bad, profit at someone else's expense, is prone to greed and self-interest. The owner of the anal vector, which in potential can become a real patriot, in his opposite, instead of love for his people, may hate someone else. A person who has not developed his visual potential will not sympathize and empathize with the grief of others, he will only pity himself.

Why do we rate it this way?

Until the end of puberty, that is, until the age of 15-16, we develop the abilities inherent in us. As we become adults, we begin to implement them, to adapt in society. Unconsciously, we evaluate other people through our own system of values, which is called "measure by ourselves."

Thus, a person with an anal vector, evaluating Darius I, will probably be outraged that he came to the throne illegally, while by right, after the missing Cambyses, Bardia should have received the throne. He will condemn Darius, who violated the tradition of succession to the throne.

And a person with a visual vector, having learned how the king of Persia dealt with the leaders of the rioters, will be horrified by the cruelty and consider him an inhumane despot and tyrant.

We see ourselves in others and tend to unconsciously demand from others to be the same as ourselves. However, if you evaluate the results of the reign of Bardia and Darius in the context of benefits for the state, it becomes easy to distinguish a real king from an impostor.

During the reign of Bardia, the country plunged into unrest and confusion and was on the verge of collapse, while Darius managed to keep the Achaemenid Empire within its former borders and stabilized the situation by strengthening the state apparatus. And the activities of any ruler can be adequately assessed by answering one main question: has he managed to preserve the integrity of his people and state? This is his main task. And the demand from him is only based on one criterion: whether he completed this task or not.

History is written by the winners, no doubt about it. The impostors are rewriting it. The state system created by Darius worked not only during his reign, but was also observed for more than a century after his death. This was largely due to his victory over the turmoil, the importance of which was immortalized at the top of the Behistun rock. Turning to history, his compatriots recalled what a lesson Persia learned, once on the brink of destruction.

Darius I, who managed to stabilize the situation in a country plunged into uprisings and turmoil, and transformed the state, making it strong and prosperous, did not doubt the significance of history. That is why he immortalized in the Behistun inscription the historical memory of the preservation of the most powerful and largest state in the Middle East of the 6th century. BC.

To forget is to self-destruct

Historical memory is one of the most important state-forming concepts of any nation. For Russians, Belarusians and Ukrainians, such a common sign of self-identification is Victory in the Great Patriotic War, victory over fascism, over the misanthropic Nazi idea.

Maintaining a historical memory in oneself means not letting oneself be destroyed.

Substitution of concepts, devaluation of historical memory, which are actively used in information warfare, are aimed at disorienting the minds, loss of respect for their roots, and general demoralization of the population.

For what purposes this is being done, one can see from today's Ukraine, where economic indicators fell below the level of the 90s for two years after the Maidan. How did it all start? With the undermining of historical values, the substitution of heroes, the "brainwashing" of the nationalist idea from the school bench in relation to the most vulnerable part of the population - to children.

When they write about the despot and tyrant Stalin, about the fact that people went to the front only at the point of the gun of the "Smershevites" - this is fanning the facts and manipulating those unconscious aspects about which it was written above. This is done to deprive people of reason, the ability to think independently and critically evaluate facts.

When Stalin and Hitler are put on the same level in comparative categories, this is a blatant slander. In the USSR during Stalin's time, more than 100 nations coexisted in one state without destructive ideas of the superiority of one race over another. And the peace that the Soviet people conquered by freeing both their country and Europe from fascism was not only in the interests of the peoples living on the territory of the USSR. The world was won for everyone: for the French, and for the Czechs, and for many other people of various nationalities from various countries.

How not to repeat mistakes

History can teach us not to make the mistakes of our ancestors. This becomes possible when we consciously separate historical facts from interpretations, and strive to independently understand what is happening. Having a systemic understanding of events, knowing the psychic nature of their direct participants and ourselves, we significantly increase our ability to see any situation objectively, easily distinguishing manipulations of destructive informational influences from reality.

In his lectures, Yuri Burlan pays great attention to the events that shaped Russia as it is, and the paradoxes of our attitude to our history. About how our Russian mentality was formed and what are its features, why only Russians tend to be ashamed of their country, as well as what we can do now for our happiness and the happiness of our country, you can find out at the free online training on systematic -vector psychology of Yuri Burlan.
