Types of depression. Causes and manifestations

What do we know about depression? Why do they arise? Let's make a brief overview. Depression can be defined as a painful state of longing, depression, hopeless despair, when a person loses interest in what is happening and, at the same time, the ability to experience joy from something.

In my practice as a psychotherapist and counseling psychologist, clients with depressive states appear more and more often. With chronic depressions that do not go away from antidepressants, they grow in volume with each glass of alcohol drunk and worsen with each note above 160 decibels, bringing the person closer to the point of no return.

Depression under a magnifying glass. Types of depression

What do we know about depression? Why do they arise? Let's make a brief overview.

Depression can be defined as a painful state of longing, depression, hopeless despair, when a person loses interest in what is happening and, at the same time, the ability to experience joy from something. The incidence of this disease is growing everywhere, and Russia occupies one of the leading positions in this sad statistics.

The types of depression are numerous and can be divided into three main large groups depending on the reason why they occur:

1) psychogenic depression;

2) endogenous depression;

3) somatically caused depression.

The origin of psychogenic depression is associated with obvious psychological stress. It can be separation or death of a loved one, divorce, dismissal, or other losses. Involutionary depression that occurs in old age also belongs to this group. From the main group, the so-called atypical depression is distinguished, which is characterized by special manifestations: patients have excessive appetite and drowsiness, as well as often "emotional reactivity." Anxiety depression is also referred to psychogenic depression - it is characterized by increased anxiety and internal anxiety.

One subtype worth highlighting is postnatal depression, diagnosed in some cases after childbirth. Systemic vector psychology shows that this type of depression is often associated with the presence of a sound vector or the visual cutaneous ligament of vectors. You can read more about this here.

Endogenous depression is one that occurs for no apparent reason. The more difficult is her treatment. Endogenous depression, the treatment of which is often associated with exacerbations, often becomes chronic.

Endogenous depression also includes anesthetic depression, which is accompanied by vital and / or mental anesthesia. Within the framework of endogenous depression, depressive derealization is possible (the surrounding world seems unreal, people around are as if inanimate) and depressive depersonalization (alienation from one's own self, loss of a sense of belonging to one's own body, loss or weakening of pain, tactile sensitivity).

Endogenous depression can occur with or without psychotic symptoms (in the everyday life of non-specialists, you can hear the phrase "psychotic depression", but in psychiatry there is no such diagnosis).

The onset of organic depression is associated with organic brain damage. Symptomatic depression (sometimes called somatic depression by non-specialists) is a consequence of certain somatic diseases (their clinic has a variety of manifestations, we will not consider it in detail in the context of this article). Separately, the so-called neuroleptic depression is distinguished, the occurrence of which is a side effect of the use of certain antipsychotics.

Based on the characteristics of the course, there are two groups of depressions: unipolar depression and bipolar depression. Bipolar depression proceeds with changes in states: from manic (sometimes hypomanic) to depressive and vice versa, mixed affective states and periods of relative well-being can also occur. The term "manic depression", sometimes used by non-specialists, is not used in psychiatry.

All this variegated variety of diagnoses acquired a completely different meaning for me after completing the training "System-vector psychology" by Yuri Burlan. Having extensive experience as a psychotherapist, I can confirm the provisions of this, without a doubt, the latest and revolutionary psychology by my observations of numerous clients. I want to pay special attention to clients diagnosed with endogenous depression.

Endogenous depression, the symptoms of which are sounded above, according to system-vector psychology, is associated with the presence of a so-called sound vector in a person in a certain state, when his innate desires do not find fulfillment. I'll explain in a little more detail.

Only 5% of the population has a sound vector. The sound vector is dominant, it contains the desire to comprehend the meanings, laws of the universe, to cognize one's "I". Filling these desires is much more difficult than any others associated with tangible material achievements. Not finding realization, the sound person loses the sense of the meaning of what is happening, his perception of the external world as illusory becomes more acute, he loses the importance of life as such. It is in this case that endogenous depression occurs - loss of interest in life, anhedonia.

An unfulfilled space grows inside, which does not diminish from the standard visit of a psychologist, listening to music, reading literature on philosophy and religion, endless meditations. The feeling of joy from these actions fills the emptiness only for a moment, forcing the inner world of a person to shrink to a small black point.

The more a person is depressed, the more space of lacks inside becomes, an uncontrollable mass that devours a person from the inside. The more the sound engineer throws alcohol and drugs into the inner furnace of depression, the further he tries to hide from his lack of computer games and other "parallel realities" that allow him to stop feeling himself for a while, the further the opportunity to get out of this pit slips away from him.

The widening and deepening of the abyss of sound deficiencies can ultimately lead to a catastrophe - suicide.

Getting out of the darkness of endogenous depression

When clients with depressive states come for a consultation, it is important to be able to hear their states.

“I have everything: family, work, home, but I do not feel joy from this, as if I do not exist, as if I had died long ago … I cannot understand why wake up, get up, go somewhere … Why do we need a series of successors the same days? What will change if I'm not there?.. There is nothing more painful than this gnawing emptiness, which does not allow to live and breathe, deprives of strength and desires … - this is a typical monologue of a person who is in a real sound (generally accepted - endogenous) depression, caused NOT by a lack of love, money, troubles at work and the like, of a material nature, depression that has no apparent external causes.

Such a confession should not become a reason for prescribing antidepressants to a person, which do not solve the problem at the root, but only temporarily relieve the pain of lack. System-vector psychology proves that endogenous depression can be easily dealt with without the use of magic pills and hospitalization, but with just one training.

If you see a depressed person, try to show him the way to system-vector psychology. This is a real mechanism that will allow stopping its destruction program and redirecting it to a full-fledged, holistic implementation of its natural task.

This can be observed in the course of Yuri Burlan's training "System-Vector Psychology". Cognition of oneself, the disclosure of the laws of the unconscious allow you to look where the sound engineer has always strived, to trace the cause-and-effect relationships, to realize your role and place in life. Relief from depression, including chronic depression, is one of the most striking and observed results of training.

Here you can read thousands of oral and written testimonies of people who have got rid of depression forever:

Suicidal thoughts disappear, physical pains disappear, computer and even drug addiction recedes. A person with a sound vector begins to live fully, fulfilling his natural destiny.
